100 new trees at the Pier Paolo Pasolini garden: this brings those planted in public parks in the last year to 1.100.
BolognaIn these days, forestation works are underway at Pier Paolo Pasolini Garden, where they are planted 100 native trees (field maples, elms, hornbeams, catalpas, cherry trees, ash trees, ash trees, lime trees, white willows and white poplars).
The intervention is part of a larger project carried out in six different public parks where in total they were planted 1.100 trees already formed (with a trunk circumference of approximately 18-20 cm), thus creating densely tree-lined areas capable of:
-contribute to the regulation of the microclimate, above all thanks to the control of extreme summer heat phenomena, but also of air quality through the phytoremediation of gaseous pollutants and the water cycle;
-make the public spaces involved more usable and livable even in the summer period, thanks to the improvement in people's thermal comfort guaranteed by the shading and cooling generated by forest-type plant covers.
The project, from vvalue of approximately 1 million euros, it was financed with funds from the time Ministry of Ecological Transition then renamedEnvironment and Energy Security. In addition to the planting of trees, the costs include the construction of the irrigation system and maintenance works for 7 years.
The other areas that have been the subject of forestation are:
park of the former Cava Bruschetti (Borgo Panigale – Reno): 400 trees
park in via Bragaglia (Borgo Panigale – Reno): 200 trees
Park of the Artists (Borgo Panigale – Reno): 200 trees
