Livorno: “I am not afraid” a project for schools and young people through cinema.

He's ready to go “I am not afraid. Fears conquered in the theater”, an innovative educational project promoted by the Ministries of Culture and Education, aimed at combating young people's fears through cinema.

The program is aimed at students of all levels – from preschool to secondary school – and includes activities such as:

• Experimental laboratories to discover how cinema is made, with thematic approaches differentiated by age group (from 5 to 18 years).
• Film screenings, organized at the Cinema 4 Mori, the Cinema Salesiani and the Labronica Library of Villa Maria, with the accompaniment of experts in the sector.
• Masterclass with directors, intended for secondary school students.
• Training for teachers, with online lessons led by film professionals.

The project focuses on the theme of fear, an emotional state that accompanies the human being from early childhood, to help young people recognize and deal with their insecurities. Through cinematographic art, the project aims to transform fear into a resource for personal growth.

The project is the result of a collaboration between the Itinera Cooperative, Municipality of Livorno, Independent Film Production Company I Licaoni, Santifanti srl with the director Livia Giunti and the association FILIPI Horror Festival. The screenings and activities will be hosted in historic and partner structures, such as Cinema 4 Mori and Cinema Salesiani.

A dedicated platform - iononhopaura.com – will soon be available, offering tutorials, educational videos and screening schedules, as well as describing the laboratory experiences.
