Livorno: found in possession of an 8-centimeter knife during a Carabinieri check. A 30-year-old reported.

The Carabinieri of the Livorno city centre station, within the framework of the territorial control services aimed at preventing widespread crime, they have reported a 30-year-old of North African origins resident in Livorno for illegal possession of weapons and objects capable of causing offence.

During a patrol service in the territory under their jurisdiction, the Carabinieri checked the man while he was walking along Via Del Fante and decided to identify him.

At the military's request to show the documents anyway he tried to evade control, arousing the suspicions of the military who decided to investigate further by carrying out a personal search on their own initiative which allowed them to find a folding knife with 8 cm blade, hidden in a trouser pocket and ready for use.

Not having been able to provide any justification for the reason for the transport, the bladed weapon was seized and the man was reported at liberty pursuant to current legislation for the protection of public safety.
