Collesalvetti: He had 22kg of frozen food without traceability, the owner of the business was fined 1.500 euros
As part of the Carabinieri campaign on food safety, the military of the NAS – Anti-adulteration and Health Unit of Livorno carried out an inspection inside a catering establishment in Collesalvetti.
Following an inspection to verify compliance with current legislation and prevent potential risks to public health, the Carabinieri found that the premises contained, intended for administration to customers, frozen food products (chicken and pork), for a total value of approximately 500 euros, without traceability which would allow us to verify its origin, in violation of industry regulations which requires that food be stored in packaging that shows, among other things, the expiry date, origin and batch number, an essential requirement for dealing with possible contamination.
The carabinieri preceded the precautionary seizure of 22 kilograms of food products, to fine the owner of the business for an amount of 1.500 euros and to inform the competent authorities in the matter.
