Territory checks in Cecina: 2 arrests, 5 reports and 4 individuals reported as drug users

Sensibly intensified action to combat the commission of crimes with a priority focus on prevention in the city centre by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Livorno. This is acoordinated action with dependent departments, aimed at countering, in addition to criminal dynamics, also the potential degradation of some areas of the territory, conducted in recent days by the Carabinieri of the Cecina Company, assisted by colleagues from the Piombino Company, as part of the intensification of services ordered by the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Livorno, according to the guidelines shared at the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security at the Prefecture of Livorno, aimed at prevention and contrast of the various forms of widespread illegality, with particular regard to the current legislation on narcotics, as well as the contrast of predatory street actions.

Activities also carried out near peripheral areas, with a view to increasing general security levels, they carried out checks with the support of the Florence Dog Unit, aimed at increasing the action to combat the commission of crimes with a priority focus on prevention. Particular attention was paid to the combating drug dealing, without neglecting the protection of road safety, combing through the centres of Rosignano Marittimo, Cecina and Castagneto Carducci and the peripheral wooded areas of those territories, in aiming to increase the anti-degradation action.During the activity, from a check carried out at the home of a subject subjected to the preventive measure of house arrest, this person was caught, in the company of another subject known to the police and burdened by various reports; both, subjected to a personal and domiciliary search on their own initiative, were found in possession of over 20 grams of a narcotic substance of the cocaine type, material useful for measuring and packaging the doses as well as the sum of 240 euros divided into small denomination banknotes, presumably the proceeds of the illicit activity, a precision scale and cutting and packaging material. At the end of today's hearing, held at the Court of Livorno, the arrests were validated. Both were ordered to be held in prison.

In the same operational context, the Carabinieri also ascertained that the same people, together with two other individuals living in the same residential unit, had illegally connected themselves with "dangling" cables to the meters of their neighbours, by taking away their electricity and consequently causing themselves an unjust profit quantified at 600 euros, as well as reported, together with the other two subjects, for aggravated theft of electricity. A man in his forties was also reported for drug dealing caught while falling from the ground floor window of his home 2 grams of hashish-type narcotic substance to a young North African citizen. The subsequent house search of the forty-year-old allowed seize an additional 7,5 grams of hashish.From the numerous checks carried out across a wide area by the Carabinieri Two other people, aged 25 and 38, were reported at large for violating the mandatory expulsion order, since, without justifiable reason, they were stopped by the crew of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit in the municipality of Cecina, violating the aforementioned precautionary measure to which they were subjected. In the same operational circumstance, two people, a thirty-year-old and a forty-year-old, were reported at liberty for illegally carrying objects capable of offending who, when checked in the city centre of Cecina, were found to be in possession of 2 knives of the prohibited type and a knuckle-duster, without justifying the reason.

Also with a view to increasing road safety, the Carabinieri have stopped in via Susa in Cecina a motorist in his forties who, following an alcohol test, he tested positive with a blood alcohol level almost three times over the current limit (1,44 g/l), for which he was reported at large for drunk driving and the immediate withdrawal of his license.
Furthermore, a house search against a forty-year-old of Albanian origins found in possession of 0,92 grams of cocaine and 0,87 grams of crack; taken to the barracks, an administrative report has been raised against him directed to the Prefecture as a non-therapeutic user. Following subsequent checks carried out, Three other people, aged between 21 and 24, were reported to the Prefecture of Livorno as drug users, caught in possession of small quantities or doses of hashish intended for personal non-therapeutic use. All the narcotic substance was seized for subsequent analysis and destruction.

The deployment of specific operational devices in the vicinity of inhabited centres and along the main communication routes, as well as in the more peripheral areas, has made it possible to proceed with the control of over 70 people, 5 subjects subjected to precautionary and preventive measures and over 30 vehicles. Other prevention and contrast services carried out by the Carabinieri will continue assiduously, especially on weekends, combining widespread prevention action with continuous repressive activity against all forms of crime in general.
