Cecina: Two road users reported at large for drunk driving
Caught by the Carabinieri at night with a blood alcohol level over double the legal limit.
Cecina: two road users reported at large for drunk driving.
As part of the intensification of road safety services ordered by the Provincial Command of Livorno, in line with the directives of the Prefecture, the Carabinieri of the Cecina Company, following checks on the main roads in the area, reported two motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Carabinieri of the Castiglioncello Station, assisted by colleagues from the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Cecina Company, stopped and checked a 25-year-old local man in via Ferrucci in Cecina Mare in the middle of the night. Showing clear signs of psychophysical alteration despite being at the wheel of a car, he was subjected to a breathalyzer test, and was found to have a blood alcohol level more than double the legal limit (1,22 gr/l).
The young man was therefore reported at liberty for drunk driving with the simultaneous withdrawal of his license and the entrusting of the car, not registered to the offender, to another driver capable of driving.
In the same operational context, in which the Carabinieri of Cecina actively monitor all the roads in the area with a view to maximum safety, always at night, a 36-year-old, driving a car, was also checked by the military of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus in the locality of San Pietro in Palazzi, with clear symptoms of alcoholic intoxication, later confirmed by a rate of 2 g/l recorded by the breathalyzer supplied to the force.
He too was reported at large, had his license revoked, and had his vehicle handed over to a third party.
The activity of the Carabinieri will always continue to pay attention to the control of road safety, too often undermined by the phenomenon of abuse of alcohol and psychotropic substances, to protect all road users.
