Livorno: From 15th to 16th February, VIII edition of the international Ninja Challenge competition
Presented in the Hall of Ceremonies at the Town Hall the eighth edition of the Ninja Challenge, an international obstacle course competition (a new Olympic specialty in Los Angeles 2028 included in the Penathlon). Present were the mayor Luca Salvetti and the organizers Maurizio and Michele Silvestri and Francesco Pirelli. The event will take place in Livorno in the indoor structure of via Pera on February 15th and 16th. This year at the event, the only test in Italy to select the athletes of the World Championship that will take place in the USA in April 2025, in addition to the best Italian specialists, representatives from Great Britain, Poland, Germany, France and Israel will participate. The event, organized by the Asd “Ninja Challenge” will be held precisely Saturday 15th, the day in which the Children's categories will compete and Sunday 16th, when it will be the turn of the Adults and Elite, at the equipped indoor structure of the Asd Ninja Cave in via Pera 28 in Livorno.
“Livorno is once again a protagonist of sport - he has declared Mayor - with this very particular discipline that was appropriately illustrated within the White Night of Sport”.
“The obstacle courses – added Maurizio Silvetri – they have officially entered as the 5th discipline of the modern Pentathlon, replacing Equestrianism, and will therefore be present at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics".
Also for this edition Ninja Challenge will be hosted not only Italian specialists in the Obstacle disciplines but also international athletes. Among the participating nations: England, Poland, Germany, Romania, France, Israel and pentathletes who will compete in the Ninja obstacle courses. The Ninja Obstacle Course is also promoted by various international TV formats, and in Italy it saw athletes from Livorno as protagonists also during the program “Show dei Record” hosted by Gerry Scotti (Martina Lottini, Nicola Gini, Anna Bargelli, Giulia Bertocchi and the president of Asd Michele Silvestri).
"The value of this type of competition goes beyond the sporting aspect. It is an education, a training to overcome the obstacles that are now on a gymnastic path but that tomorrow will be, in different forms, obstacles in everyday life" he concluded Michele Silvestri describing the discipline.
