Livorno: Attacks and threatens staff of a social-health center, 40-year-old fined 1.000 euros

The Provincial Carabinieri Command of Livorno, in synergy with the competent specialty department of the force, the Anti-Adulteration and Health Unit of Livorno, reserves the phenomenon of attacks on public offices and which, at times, also involve the health facilities of the province, particular attention through theincrease in dynamic external services that monitor the prevention itself in order to be able to intervene with adequate timeliness in the event of a request for intervention.

In this context, the an incident that directly involved the soldiers of the NAS of Livorno, relating to report of a man in his forties already known to the police, who allegedly displayed aggressive and threatening behavior towards colleagues at a socio-health center in the province.

The reported facts triggered the appropriate investigations by the Livorno Carabinieri into the matter, so much so that the Carabinieri of the local NAS, activated by a formal communication from the General Management of the USL Toscana Nord Ovest Company, they started appropriate investigation activities which were followed by the expected reporting, with relative sanction, to the competent Administrative Authority against the aforementioned, already burdened by previous ones, with the accusation of having engaged in aggressive, threatening and intimidating conduct towards the healthcare personnel of the Livorno hospital.

The fine that was imposed on the attacker by the Carabinieri complies with Law no. 113/2020, according to which the following was raised against him: sanction consisting of a fine amounting to 1.000 euros. This rule, in fact, provides that anyone who engages in violent, abusive, offensive or harassing conduct towards personnel practicing a health or social-health profession or even towards anyone who carries out auxiliary care, health care or rescue activities functional to the performance of said professions in public or private health and social-health facilities is subject to a administrative fine between 500 and 5 thousand euros.

The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Livorno remain highly vigilant in protecting the safety of public health facilities in the province.
