Livorno: Carabinieri arrest three people for drug dealing.

As part of the intensification of anti-drug operations ordered by the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Livorno, in line with the strategic guidelines of the Prefecture, the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit - Operational Section - carried out an anti-drug operation during which they arrested three people in flagrante delicto, two men and a woman aged between 21 and 46, all of foreign origin, for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing in conspiracy.

The Carabinieri had concentrated their attention precisely in the historic center of Livorno and precisely in Piazza Garibaldi, Piazza della Repubblica and Scali delle Cantine, also to verify some reports from citizens regarding foreign people of African origins noticed having quick encounters with other people passing by.

Observation services were used, including covert operations, which allowed the Carabinieri to identify the three suspects.

They were caught while they were busy packaging 8 doses, for a total weight of 3 grams, of a narcotic substance of the cocaine type. In the circumstance the 46-year-old, having noticed the arrival of the officers, threw into the waters of the aforementioned ditch a large package probably containing further narcotic substance.

Following a personal search, the other two individuals were found in possession of 150 euros in banknotes of various denominations and material for packaging the narcotic substance.
All that was found was then seized and the aforementioned individuals were arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute narcotics in conjunction with each other.

Following a hearing at the Court of Livorno, the Judge validated the arrest and ordered the woman and the younger of the two men to be required to sign in, while the 46-year-old was placed under house arrest.
