In the city center of a town on the Island of Elba, for trivial reasons, perhaps one too many compliments to a girl, two small groups of young Italians clashed with each other. During the argument a gun appeared, held by one of the litigants and pointed at one of the other boys. The request for intervention to 112 was immediate. On site, in a few minutes, the Carabinieri of the Portoferraio Operative and Radiomobile Unit and the local Station arrived and started the preliminary investigations to reconstruct the incident. The turning point in the investigations came shortly after, also thanks to the elements that emerged from the examination of some video traces of interest acquired from public and private circuits in the area by the operating Carabinieri, systematized with the acquisition of information, and which allowed them to find the gun. The weapon was hidden under the sand of a nearby beach. From an immediate check, the gun turned out to be just a perfect replica without the expected red cap of a Glock, a blank cartridge, which was simultaneously seized.
The investigations started by the Carabinieri of the Marciana Marina Station, also supported by the checks carried out on the acquisition of information and statements of informed persons, have finally allowed us to identify the three young men of Campanian origins, aged between 19 and 34. These, from the reconstruction conducted, after having threatened another boy with a gun, before the intervention of the Carabinieri, they allegedly got rid of the weapon by burying it on the beach. The three suspects were reported at liberty to the Judicial Authority of Livorno respectively for illegal possession of a weapon without a red cap and aggravated threat against the person holding the weapon, and aiding and abetting, for having helped his friend hide the gun and consequently having attempted to evade investigations, against the other two protagonists of the affair.
