Merate (LC), the Police meets 400 students to talk about web security.

Yesterday morning, the staff of the Lecco State Police, specialized in risks of the web and social networks, held a training meeting at the state technical institute “Francesco Viganò” in Merate, on the occasion of Safer Internet Day.

The meeting was preceded by the screening of the film “Un bacio” by Ivan Cotroneo, following which a short debate was held with the students in which the themes covered in the screened story were touched upon, young people's difficulties in relating, acceptance of diversity, homosexuality, stereotypes and problems related to adolescence.

Taking inspiration from the film, with simple words, the State Police personnel provided those present useful tips and valuable recommendations to avoid running into the risks of the virtual world.

We focused on the cyberbullying, a phenomenon that can produce harmful effects for young victims and on dangers present in digital world, which can lead to unimaginable consequences in the real world.

“There are those who use false identity and manages to gain people's trust. Revenge porn, solicitation of a minor, identity theft and photo: these are just some of the risks that web users may encounter” the recommendations provided to those present.

The meeting was attended by about 400 students and the students and teaching staff expressed great appreciation for the topics covered.
