May 28th is the 44th anniversary of the attack, carried out by a terrorist commando of the NAR, in which the Deputy Brigadier of Francis the Evangelist, known by many by the name of “Serpico”, and, years later, following his injuries, the Vice Brigadier of Antonio Manfreda and the Officer of Giovanni Lorefice.
On the morning of May 28, 1980, four "black" NAR terrorists ambushed Evangelista in front of the Liceo Giulio Cesare. Despite the reaction of two policemen, colleagues of the victim, "Serpico" died after being shot seven times.
For the occasion, the Vice Quaestor Vicario Francesco Rattà, in the presence of his family, placed a laurel wreath on the plaque located inside the Porta Pia police station, where the aforementioned served at the time of the attack, in the name of the Chief of Police - Director General of the State Police Vittorio Pisani. The Commemoration then continued with a moment of prayer officiated by the Chaplain of the Rome Police Headquarters Don Nicola Tagliente.
