Ugento (Lecce), stopped for a check, hides 10g of cocaine in the dog's harness: a woman arrested

Preventive and repressive activity of the Company Carabinieri of Casarano relating to the fight against drug dealing and consumption continues unabated throughout the territory of the jurisdiction.

During Monday evening the Carabinieri of the Ugento station they arrested a woman in flagrante delicto because she was allegedly responsible for possession of a narcotic substance for the purpose of dealing.

Particularly, following a traffic check on the SS274, at the Gemini junction, the military they subjected the two occupants of a small car to a search, man and a woman. Upon completion of the investigations, the Carabinieri they found a package containing approximately 10 grams of alleged narcotic substance, probably of the cocaine type, hidden inside the woman's dog harness.

Investigative activity, continued at the respective homes of the two suspects, he allowed to be found at the woman's house all the material needed for the alleged drug dealing activity, i.e. objects for packaging, weight and cutting. The woman was then arrested and, as ordered by the PM on duty at the Lecce Public Prosecutor's Office who is conducting the investigations, accompanied to her home under house arrest.

The man, however, was reported in sl for complicity in the crime. It is important to point out that the proceedings are in the preliminary investigation phase and that the possible guilt in relation to the crime charged must be established during the trial  in the cross-examination between the parties
