The joint action of the Carabinieri of the Nardò and Galatone stations led to the arrest of two Tunisian citizens, traced thanks to the use of geolocalisation techniques

In the evening of 31st January, Carabinieri of the Nardò Station, in synergy with colleagues from the Galatone Station, have 2 Tunisian citizens arrested in flagrante delicto, residents of Nardò and legal on the national territory.
The operation was launched following a theft on a car which happened in galatone, where a woman reported the theft of a bag containing earphones “Apple AirPods” from a small car parked on a public street.
Thanks to timely investigative insights and the use of advanced techniques geolocation, the Carabinieri managed to trace the bag and the earphones inside aNardò house, where the arrested persons resided.
The military personnel of the Arma, through a coordinated and professional operation, entered the house, finding not only the stolen bag and earphones, but also 5 watches and various precious jewels, presumably from other thefts.
The bag and earphones were promptly returned to their rightful owner, while the other objects found were seized for further investigation. Investigations are continuing in order to trace the identity of the owners of the other stolen goods.
After the ritual activities, the 2 arrested were taken to the Lecce Prison, as provided by Public Prosecutor of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Lecce who conducts the investigations.
This intervention represents a further example of the constant commitment of the Carabinieri in fight against crime and in protecting the safety of citizens.
Law enforcement remains vigilant and ready to intervene to ensure a safe and secure environment for the community.
