Weekend of intense checks in Salento, with the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Lecce engaged in an operation aimed at countering the malamovida, the drug dealing and the most widespread criminal phenomena.

During the checks, the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Lecce Company, with the support of the military of the Monteroni di Lecce Station, they arrested a 22-year-old from the place, caught in possession of almost 15 grams of hashish.

22-year-old arrested for drugs

The young one, one student, was subjected to a personal and home searches. During the check, the soldiers found in his bedroom three cellophane wrappers containing hashish, hidden in a wall unit.

In addition to the narcotic substance, a precision balance and drug packaging material, all subjected to seizure.

At the disposal of Public Prosecutor on duty both at Public Prosecutor's Office of Lecce, the young man was arrested and placed under arrest looking forward to further developments.

Business suspended at a venue due to serious irregularities

In parallel with the anti-drug operation, the Carabinieri of the Lecce Santa Rosa Station, In collaboration with the Labor Inspectorate Unit (NIL) and the Anti-adulteration and Health Unit (NAS), they carried out checks in a entertainment venue of the Salento capital.

La owner of the place, a young entrepreneur, was reported to the competent authorities for serious violations in the field of health and safety at work. In particular, the following were found irregularities:

• Failure to undergo mandatory medical examination two employees.
• Absence of adequate training on business risks for another employee.
• Employment of two irregular workers, which led to the suspension of business activity.

For these violations, fines have been raised administrative sanctions for a total of 13.000 euros. In addition, the NAS has found further irregularities in food safety matter, with a fine of 3.000 €.

During the checks, the two irregular workers were also reported by the Carabinieri because they were found in possession of small amounts of hashish.

Investigations ongoing

All proceedings are still in the preliminary phase and the possible guilt of the accused will have to be ascertained during the process, in full compliance with the contradictory between the parties.
