An operation by the Lecce State Police has been underway since dawn to execute a custody order against 9 people, 8 of whom are in prison and 1 under house arrest, investigated for criminal association aimed at drug trafficking and possession of weapons.
The investigative activities, originated by the arrest of a small-time drug dealer, subsequently allowed the seizure of numerous weapons, including war weapons, explosives and large quantities of narcotic substances, particularly heroin, documenting how behind him there was a well-structured organization rooted in Lecce.
In this context it emerged that the top management used a small bakery as an organizational and decision-making base, where the most important decisions were taken. Thus, the investigators revealed the presence of a capillary structure, in which there was a precise division of tasks among the associates.
