The extraordinary control activity of the territory of Lecce continues with the Interforce Services "Alto Impatto", planned by the Police Commissioner in collaboration with the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security. The operation involved the State Police, the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza, with the aim of ensuring greater security and preventing crimes on the territory.

The checks, carried out over the last seven days, involved the municipalities of Taurisano, Casarano, Gallipoli, Copertino, Nardò, Tricase and many other locations in the province. The checks focused on:

• Identification of persons and control of customers in public places.
• Combating drug trafficking and use.
• Administrative checks on 55 commercial establishments.

Main results of the operation:

• 5 arrests, of which 4 were caught in the act of drug dealing and 1 was convicted by order of the Judicial Authority.
• 5 complaints at large, including 4 for drug trafficking and 1 for illegal possession of weapons.
• 15 records found for personal use of narcotic substances.
• 1869 people identified, of which 240 have criminal and/or police records.
• 875 vehicles checked with administrative checks.

The operation reaffirmed the importance of the synergic presence of the Police Forces on the territory, strengthening the perception of safety among citizens and ensuring effective action to prevent and combat predatory crimes.
