Lecce: Extraordinary control of the territory, fines, arrests and reports

Incisive extraordinary control operation of the territory, the one implemented by the Carabinieri of the Campi Salentina Company. Two individuals were arrested because they were presumed responsible for mistreatment in the family (one was also charged with extortion) and 5 individuals were reported to the competent Judicial Authority for crimes against property, illicit possession of pyrotechnic and explosive material and for driving under the influence of alcohol. In total they were approximately 50 vehicles monitored and over 100 people checked. 15 fines and 2 driving licenses withdrawn.

The Carabinieri of the Campi Salentina Company have implemented a targeted extraordinary control service of the territory in the municipalities of Trepuzzi, Veglie and Novoli, culminating in a major intervention that led to the arrest of two subjects, a 58 year old and a 28 years old, both from Salento, because they were considered presumed responsible for mistreatment in the family.

In the first case, the illicit conduct was carried out against the cohabiting mother from whom the man allegedly tried to extort money. The defendant refused he violently threw a cell phone at the woman, hitting her in the face and causing injuries.

In the second, instead, the young man, for trivial reasons, he allegedly behaved violently towards his partner who was a few years younger than him, beating her up. The doors of the prison in the capital of Salento have opened for both of them, where they will remain in prison provision of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Lecce which is conducting the investigations.

The operation conducted by the military of the Arma has proved to be crucial also because, in addition to representing a strong and clear signal in the protection and guarantee of respect for the law, it has also led to several reports to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Lecce.

A 40 year old man and a 35 year old woman, both already known from Salento, They were reported because they were presumed responsible for a theft that took place in a bar in Novoli, where, after breaking a window, they allegedly entered inside and stole the money (a few dozen euros) that was inside the cash register.

There was no shortage of road traffic controls that allowed to report a 22-year-old and a 37-year-old who had their licenses revoked because they were found driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. The situation was more serious for the 37-year-old who was checked while driving a car with which he had caused a road accident.

The an 32 year old trepuzzino got into trouble after being reported for violations of the obligations relating to the precautionary measure of house arrest to which he was subjected. In fact, during the inspection by the military, the young man has not been found inside their own home, thus violating the obligations imposed.

The military then found violations regarding explosives: a 21-year-old already known, following a house search, was found in possession of a total of 48 kg of illegal pyrotechnic and explosive material, divided into 8 pyrotechnic batteries of 40 kg and 6 packages containing a total of 120 explosive sticks. The defendant was reported as follows while all the material was seized and “exploded” by the personnel of the Carabinieri Artificieri Unit of Lecce.

During the operation, which saw the control of over 100 people and 50 vehicles, it has emerged how fundamental continuous monitoring of the territory is. The military have in fact also carried out dvarious personal and house searches with the help of the Carabinieri of the Modugno Dog Unit and 2 commercial activities were checked with related reports to the competent Administrative Authorities. 15 fines issued and 3 driving licenses withdrawn.
