On Thursday 19 September the State Police arrested a man under house arrest unsuspected, clean criminal record, 72, from Salerno, caught in the act of detention for the purpose of dealing of narcotic substances.

On this occasion, during specific anti-drug operations, the agents were made suspicious by the gait of a vehicle which was proceeding at high speed in the outskirts of Lecce, thus deciding to stop the vehicle and subject the driver to a check.

At the sight of the policemen, he immediately appeared restless and intolerant of the police checks, in fact he reported that he was in a hurry and had to leave quickly, he kept repeating that he was a photographer returning from Taranto where he had had a work meeting regarding a photo shoot, expressing pressing needs.

The man's nervousness increased when the officers communicated that they would search him and in fact, after a long search, the police managed to find, inside the seat back padding, of heroin for a total weight of almost 100 grams, This substance is well known for the high dependence it causes in its users.

On this basis, the arrested person was taken to the Lecce Police Headquarters for the routine checks, he was placed under house arrest and made available to the Judicial Authority.
