Castrignano De' Greci: Domestic violence, precautionary measure issued against a 34-year-old

The Carabinieri of the Martano Station have executed a custodial order against a 34-year-old man from Salento. The order, issued by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Lecce, is the result of a careful and meticulous investigation conducted by the military of the Arma, which allowed them to collect significant evidence against the suspect. The charges against the young man include serious crimes of extortion, both committed and attempted, perpetrated against his cohabiting mother, as well as threats and personal injury against his own brother. The illicit conduct allegedly occurred on several occasions, creating a climate of fear and insecurity within the family context.

The intervention of the Carabinieri arose from the need to protect the victims involved, that they found the strength to report the violence they suffered. Thanks to the diligence and professionalism of the investigators, it was possible to gather sufficient evidence to justify the issuing of the precautionary measure. At the end of the formal procedures, in compliance with the order of the Judicial Authority, the 34-year-old was taken to the “Borgo San Nicola” prison in Lecce. This intervention highlights the constant commitment of the Law Enforcement and the Public Prosecutor's Office of Lecce in combating domestic violence and forms of extortion, pointing out the importance of reporting such behaviors to ensure the safety and well-being of victims. The Carabinieri renew their invitation to anyone who finds themselves in similar situations to turn without fear to the Police Force, who are ready to listen and intervene to guarantee the protection of the rights and dignity of every individual.
