Lecce: 48-year-old and 56-year-old arrested, caught red-handed for possession of narcotics and dealing

The attention of the patrol officers was drawn by two men who were suspiciously conspiring in close proximity: the police officers stopped to observe and witnessed the two exchanging a cellophane package, followed by the other giving them banknotes.

The two were immediately reached by the agents who invited the buyer, a 48enne, to hand over the small bag he had just pocketed, containing a white powdery narcotic substance, of the cocaine type, weighing approximately 0,3 g.

While the other man, a 52 year old known to the police force, was subjected to a personal search which allowed the following to be found:
– two transparent cellophane packages containing a solid brown narcotic substance of the hashish type with a total weight of 51g;
– in two different packages were kept respectively: 6 transparent cellophane bags and 3 in the other, all containing a white powdery narcotic substance, of the Cocaine type, for a total weight of 11g.

In the wallet they came banknotes for a total of 70 euros were found, seized because they were likely the proceeds of drug dealing, while in the man's home the man handed over of his own free will a cardboard box containing several packages containing different quantities of cocaine, for a total weight of 54g; also in the box there was a transparent cellophane package containing hashish, precision scales and different material used for packaging the doses, three packages containing 200g of mannitol, a common cutting agent for cocaine.

All the material found was seized along with a smartphone used by the 52-year-old; the man was arrested in flagrante delicto and, by order of the Judicial Authority, placed under house arrest while the client Article 75 of Presidential Decree 309/90 was contested for possession of narcotic substances for personal use.
