Lecce: 7 expulsions carried out since the beginning of the year against non-EU citizens irregularly present on the national territory and with criminal records

Since the beginning of 2025 there have been 6 expulsion decrees issued by the Prefect of Lecce and one by the Judicial Authority, which were followed by 7 expulsion orders issued by the Police Chief of the Province of Lecce and executed by the State Police against non-EU citizens who are irregular on the national territory and with previous convictions for crimes of particular social alarm. Of 7 expulsions, 5 were performed with escort to the border, 2 with issuance of an order to leave the national territory. 5 of the expelled subjects they had criminal records in various capacities including damage, carrying and illegal possession of weapons, killing of animals, receiving stolen goods, theft, mistreatment, obscene acts.

In particular, it was an expulsion was carried out against a Lebanese citizen with a police record for aiding illegal immigration and resisting a public official e one against an Albanian citizen with a criminal record for drugs, evasion, resisting a public official, violence or threats to a public official, private violence, aggravated robbery, aggravated personal injury and invasion of land or buildings.
