Isernia: Woman locked in her home: Her partner arrested just days before International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Right next to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women of November 25, the Carabinieri of the Operational Section of the Isernia Company, Together with Radiomobile section and to the agents of the Flying Team of the Police Headquarters, intervened in a house in the city centre and arrested a 40enne Isernia.

The man is held responsible for abuse in the family, committed against the young cohabiting partner. The intervention was triggered after a call for help to 112, forwarded by a worried relative of the woman who had been unable to contact her for several days. Once they reached the house, the soldiers found the young woman segregated, kept under surveillance by a relative of the suspect with the task of preventing her from escaping.

The woman had in fact expressed her intention to return to the maternal home, located in another region, but she was allegedly prevented from doing so by pressure and coercion. Thanks to the arrest of her partner, the young woman was able to tell the Carabinieri the numerous episodes of physical and moral violence suffered during cohabitation. Now he is safe, entrusted to the care and support of a anti-violence center. The man has been associated with the Isernia prison, available to Prosecutor's Office.

His responsibilities will be ascertained during the legal proceedings.
