The new project was presented this morning at Palazzo Civico "WALK! LA SPEZIA – The pleasure of walking in the city” developed and wanted by the Peracchini Administration and created in collaboration with ATC Mobilità e Parcheggi.
“La Spezia is always a destination most appreciated and frequented by tourists coming from all over the world, with a number of tourist presences almost double that of Italy, as shown by the data with almost 1 million presences in the city in 2023, to which 700.000 cruise passengers are added - declares the Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini – such important numbers have been determined by the policies carried out in recent years by this Administration which has always believed in the potential of La Spezia and in the importance of tourism as a driving force for the economic development of the city.

This new project is a further step forward in discovering La Spezia through easily accessible thematic itineraries. Signage offers the added value of QRCode through which to connect to a multimedia content which, in various languages ​​of the world, tells and details from a historical-cultural point of view what can be observed along the route. One way to get to know the city better which will be interesting not only for tourists, but also for citizens.”

“Many things have changed in recent years – declares the Tourism Councilor Maria Grazia Frijia– there was a need to renew and standardize the part linked to information and tourist reception and we do so with this project, a further piece added to the city. Furthermore, we are working to standardize the tourist maps with new logos and graphics: to achieve this result we participated in the Liguria Region's Funt Call with Government funds, with extensive programming that started a year ago. We are very satisfied because we continue to work for a strategic sector, the tourism, which is becoming a driving force for the economy of our area. "

La Spezia is increasingly becoming a tourist destination and over the years a series of actions have been implemented to recover and enhance the cultural heritage of this city. Today, thanks to this project, those who come to La Spezia, but also the people of La Spezia themselves, will have a multimedia and intuitive tool that will allow them to orient themselves in the city but also discover specific itineraries that demonstrate how La Spezia is rich in monuments, palaces and buildings of particular historical value. -cultural. The project "Walk! Spice” focuses on the user's need to obtain information in a simple, rapid and high-impact way for those who want to follow city routes, with the aim of visiting the most important monuments, historic buildings and places of culture in the city.

The project takes shape in creation of a cultural circuit of tourist value to encourage the development of "slow tourism", to be explored on foot along the pedestrian paths. To encourage gentle mobility and in particular cycle tourism, the sites to be enhanced included in the project are included in the city's cycle/pedestrian circuits and can be reached with the use of electric or traditional bikes, along the cycle paths equipped with public bike sharing services already active in the urban circuit.

The project foresees theuse of a multimedia application dedicated to the development of tourist information through mobile devices, such as smartphones or tablets, and the installation of new tourist signage equipped with QR Code which can be used on all multimedia platforms and which will allow access to a series of services integrated that will facilitate and improve the experience of staying in our city. The technology used will then allow language barriers to be overcome as all information is translated into practically all the languages ​​spoken in the world.

Furthermore theTourist info point (IAT) will become the nodal point on which the coordination of the new tourist circuit of the project will be developed, for which the main headquarters will be renovated for better functionality and tourist visibility.
The new information panels, beautiful and elegant, as mentioned will all be equipped with QR Codes from which it will be possible to download themed interactive itineraries such as: Liberty and Decò route, Futurist and Rationalist La Spezia, La Spezia the places of culture, La Spezia Forte where they are indicate all the information related to the project.
