Vicenza, towards the 30th Anniversary of the Annecy-Vicenza Twinning: a French delegation visits for cultural and environmental projects
A delegation from Annecy visited Vicenza to plan projects for the 30th anniversary of the twinning in 2025, involving young people and culture. They met local representatives, visited the Odeon Cinema and restarted school exchanges.

A delegation from from the twin city of Annecy She visited Vicenza last weekend to discuss the various projects started or under development in view of the celebrations of the 30 years of twinning which occurs in 2025.
The Councilor for Twin Cities Jean François Degenne with two other French guests was welcomed by the Deputy Mayor Isabella Sala, by Elia Pizzolato, Councilor for the study and development of projects and activities in the field of twinning, and by Councilor Pilan, Delegate for Relations with Foreign Communities, who donated a book dedicated to the traveler Pigafetta on the occasion of the Pigafetti Week.
The group discussed some exchange events for the celebrations next year, which will involve music, arts, young people and the environment.
The guests were escorted to the venue of the Youth Information Centre of Vicenza where they also met the councilor for youth policies Leonardo Nicolai and the councilor Benedetta Ghiotto delegated to study functions, of proposal and development of projects and activities involving the under 30 world. Also next year youth representatives from the twinned cities will participate in the European working groups during the Vi-Young Festival.
Furthermore, the work of exchange and twinning between the athletics associations of the two cities continued: Annecy Haute-Savoie Athlétisme – AHSA and Atletica Vicentina, with the involvement of the Ultrabericus Team ASD (Enrico Pollini and Denis Bagnara). The delegations visited and met Vicenza Athletics at the Campo di via Rosmini accompanied by Gabriele Viale and Barbara Lah.
The delegation visited the Odeon Cinema and the newly restored hall, meeting the director of film programming, Enrico Ladisa. The aim is create synergies between the ancient cinema of Vicenza and the two famous film festivals of Annecy: that of Animated Film and that of Italian Cinema.
They are recovering exchanges between schools, suspended for years due to the pandemic, which will involve several schools in the city.
Finally, guests were able to discover some city jewels such as the Teatro Olimpico and the Basilica Palladiana.
