Vicenza, exhibition “Bio-graphies, rights and peace in the zero-six system”: 520 works created by children on the occasion of the National Conference of the Nidi e infanzia Group.

Over 500 works created by children from 0 to 6 years old will invade the noble hall of the Basilica Palladiana until Sunday 27 October. The inauguration yesterday at 17pm will kick off the exhibition “Bio-graphies, rights and peace in the integrated system of education and instruction zero-six”.

The exhibition is one of the events of “Living childhood 06+”, a review created by the Technical and Scientific Pedagogical Coordination on behalf of the Department of Education, on the occasion of the twenty-third national conference of the Nidi e infanzia Group, entitled “The Integrated System. Educational Continuity and Coherence in the Zero-Six” which will be held for the first time in Vicenza from 25 to 27 October.

Education Councillor Giovanni Selmo went to the exhibition yesterday together with Alessandro Montanari and Anita Zampieri of Manaly Design&Build, a cooperative that took care of the set-up together with the Technical and Scientific Pedagogical Coordination.

«For the first time, an exhibition with works created by children and families arrives in the Basilica. In view of the National Conference of the Nidi e infanzia Group, which will attract educators and teachers from all over Italy, we wanted to show the wealth of educational services in our city - stressed the education councillor Giovanni Selmo -. The exhibition tells through the eyes of children how they see themselves, the city and how they imagine peace. The works have been collected in different sections, which take up the articles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and group the works according to the graphic characteristics and the age of the children. It was a work structured over time, with the fundamental collaboration of Manaly Design & Build, which we thank for having embraced the project and created a child-friendly installation. In the hall of the Basilica, a very light wooden structure has been positioned, where the works are hung, and characterized at the entrance and exit by a construction in the shape of a "zero" and "six" with an opening at child height and one for adults. I also thank the head of the Technical and Scientific Pedagogical Coordination Gianfilippo Vispo and the many educators involved in this project. The exhibition will be open until Sunday 27 October, upon registration, and the Basilica will also be illuminated externally with the colors of peace».

The Bio-graphies exhibition

The exhibition consists of 520 works created, from May to June, by children aged 0 to 6 from 52 educational services, public, private and state-funded nursery and primary schools in Vicenza.

Three different themes inspired the graphic works of the little artists: “Dear Vicenza, let me introduce myself…” for the 0-3 age group, “Dear Vicenza, let me tell you about myself…” for the 3-6 age group and “Dear Vicenza, let me tell you about peace…” for the first grades of primary schools. The children’s works will be accompanied by 217 reflections created by the families starting from “Dear Vicenza, I thank you for…”.

The exhibition will be open on Wednesday 23, Thursday 24 and Sunday 27 October from 10 am to 18 pm (last admission at 17.30:25 pm); Friday 26 and Saturday 10 October from 22 am to 21.30 pm (last admission at 22:17 pm). The inauguration is scheduled for Tuesday XNUMX October at XNUMX pm.

The national conference

Are approximately 1300 professionals, including educators and teachers, arriving in Vicenza from all over Italy for the National Nursery and Childhood Group Conference.

The works will open Friday 25 October at 15.30 pm with a plenary session until 18.30:XNUMX pm at the Teatro Comunale di Vicenza. The afternoon will be introduced by institutional greetings. We will then discuss the zero-six system by proposing various reflections.

On Saturday 26 October the day will be divided into a morning session, from 9.30 to 13, and an afternoon session, from 14 to 16.30, during which five commissions composed of professionals in the sector will examine the zero-six system in its various levels, from the pedagogical to the governance levelThe commissions will meet at the Teatro Comunale, the Rossi Institute, the Patronato Leone XIII cinema and the Diocesan Centre “Mons. A. Onisto”.

On Saturday afternoon, for two hours, there will also be visits to some of the services of the integrated 0-6 system of the City of Vicenza. Participants in the Conference will be able to go to San Lazzaro municipal children's centre, at the Don Vittorio Battilana Fism integrated nursery and kindergarten, at the Peep Laghetto state nursery and kindergarten, at the municipal nursery and kindergarten under concession to Ipab, and at the Polo 0-10 nursery school.

The conference will end on Sunday morning, from 9.30 to 12, with a plenary meeting at the Municipal Theatre for the restitution of the works carried out in the various sessions.
