Vicenza, celebrations for the Day of National Unity and the Armed Forces.

Monday 4th November is the anniversary of the National Unity and Armed Forces Day will be celebrated with a ceremony, as per tradition, promoted by the Prefecture with the Municipality of Vicenza and Coespu.

The celebrations will open at 9.30 am from Holy Mass in suffrage of the Fallen at the church of Santa Maria dei Servi in ​​Piazza Biade. The mass will be celebrated by Bishop Giuliano Brugnotto.

It will be followed at 10.30 by the institutional ceremony in Piazza dei Signori. The program includes the entrance of the Training Department, the Gonfalone of the Province of Vicenza and the medals and banners of the Combatant and Weapons Associations. Honors will follow for the decorated flags, the highest authority and the Fallen. There will then be speeches by the authorities and, at the end, demonstration performances by the Italian Army, the Police Forces and the Fire Brigade..

At the end of the event the gazebo of the Italian Army will remain in Piazza dei Signori and will continue with its performances until 18 pm.

The musical moments will be performed by the students of Vicenza from the “Antonio Pigafetta” music high school, the “Antonio Barolini” secondary school and the “GB Tiepolo” primary school, and from the 2nd and 4th comprehensive institutes.

As part of the celebrations in honor of the Fallen, On Saturday 2 November at 10 am a mass will be held in memory of the fallen in the presence of the highest city authorities. The mass, promoted by the Municipality with the National Association of Families of Fallen and Missing in War, will be celebrated by Cardinal Agostino Marchetto in the Church of the Risen Christ at the Maggiore Cemetery in Vicenza.
