Vicenza: 70 educators and teachers in class on accident prevention and signs of abuse

From accident prevention at home and at school to warning signs abuse and mistreatment up to the procedures for reporting and certifications. These are the topics that will be addressed by about seventy teachers and educators during three training meetings – October 10th and November 13th and 14th – created within the project “The City of Vicenza for a safer childhood".

The project, aimed at the staff of the 17 nursery schools and 12 municipal nurseries, under concession and under agreement, started in April thanks to the collaboration between the Aulss 8 Berica and the Municipality of Vicenza, with the commitment of the president of the municipal council delegated to issues relating to health and well-being. Massimiliano Zaramella and the education councilor Giovanni Selmo.

"Thanks to the collaboration with Aulss 8 Berica, we offer our educators and teachers valuable training opportunities on fundamental issues for the safety and growth of children. Skills that are added to those already possessed by nursery school and kindergarten staff, with the additional opportunity to interact with high-level professionals and therefore acquire even more in-depth knowledge on the topics covered in the courses", underlines the president of the municipal council Massimiliano Zaramella and the education councilor Giovanni Selmo.

The meetings held so far have led to the training of over 200 people on maneuvers to clear airways, on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and on the use of the semi-automatic external defibrillator (Dae).

The training course will continue in the next few days with three training meetings, within the framework of the activation of the Integrated Education and Instruction System, during which the free-choice pediatricians of Aulss 8 Berica will address some emerging and fundamental issues for those who work in child care services, to define procedures and organizational aspects in the educational and scholastic field.

The meetings will take place in the Gresele Hall of the university campus of the Nursing School, in contra' San Bortolo, on 10 October, 13 and 14 November 2024. The speakers will be Dr. Angela Pasinato and the doctor Bruno Ruffato.
