From today until November 20th it is possible to vote for the two projects of the Municipality of Verona in the running for the 2024 Golden Smartphone Award: “Sportello Energia Verona” and “naturAzioni”, the latter created with the support of the Cariverona Foundation.

These projects testify the Municipality's commitment to improving the daily life of citizens in an innovative and inclusive way: one is dedicated to energy, offering an information and support service on complex but fundamental issues for the ecological transition; the other aims to bring citizens closer to nature, enhancing and making accessible the historical-naturalistic places and landscapes of the city.

How to vote: from the PA Social website, in the “Vote” section: https://www.pasocial.info/registrati-per-votare/; through the PA Social app, which can be downloaded for free from the Play Store and App Store. Votes cast via blockchain on the app are worth double, in support of the use of blockchain technology in public communication. Only one vote per person is allowed.

The projects of the Municipality of Verona nominated:

SVerona Energy hatch (with candidacy no. 10): the “Sportello Energia Verona” is an online service created to offer citizens clear and practical information on energy, supporting them in the conscious management of energy consumption. The service stands out for its accessibility and personalized approach, helping citizens to:understand electricity and gas bills; navigate the various offers on the energy market to find the ones best suited to your needs; improve the energy efficiency of your homes; learn about the incentives and tax deductions available; adopt good daily practices for energy saving.
The service also provides the possibility of sending specific questions via an online form, receiving targeted responses within ten days.

Nature Actions (with candidacy no. 67): “NaturAzioni”, supported by Fondazione Cariverona, is a three-year project that aims to recover and enhance the natural places of Verona through environmental education and civic participation. The response from citizens has been enthusiastic, with increasing participation in the proposed activities, ranging from guided excursions to citizen science initiatives such as BioBlitz, to educational programs for schools and teachers. The project also promotes civic activation, encouraging the care and redevelopment of the territory thanks to an active collaboration with local associations.

“NaturAzioni” has enabled the implementation of concrete interventions such as the restoration of the Lazzaretto of Verona and the arrangement of some natural paths, making these places more usable and accessible to the community.
