Verona, hundreds of felines conquer the city: the contest “The most beautiful cats in the world” is back.

Real stars, capable of conquering the public with their thick coat, long whiskers and sweet and proud look. Adults but also many puppies ready to raise smiles and give so much tenderness. The International Feline Exhibition returns to Verona, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October, in Gran Guardia. The autumn spotlight turns on the Cat Show 'branded' by ENFI Ente Nazionale Felinotecnica Italiana.

Verona celebrates a 46-year long love story, the first edition of the Exhibition, in fact, was way back in 1978. Costanza Daragiati, after seeing a cat show in London, when in Italy the cat was still mainly a farmyard animal, decided to organize one within the walls of Verona. And since then it has been a timeless success, which still today testifies to the love of Italians for felines.

A stone's throw from the Arena, you will be able to see live from the giant Maine Coons to the tender British and Scottish. And also Sphynx, Persians, Exotics, Devon Rex, Highland, Ragdoll and Russian Blue. Including the champions of past editions. And, for the first time, the Abyssinians, a breed originating from Ethiopia.

"It is a pleasure to be here again this year to present this event. - declares the municipal councilor delegated for Animal Protection Giuseppe Rea –, an interesting opportunity for the city, which offers the opportunity to all people to get closer to the world of cats. Therefore useful to raise awareness among the community on animal protection and on how cats, and not only, should be managed. All cats are beautiful and I remember that at the Rifugio del Cane di Verona there are many waiting to be adopted. Taking care of an animal is a responsibility but also a great gift to oneself and to the little life companion that one chooses to keep with us".

The public will be able to learn about the peculiarities and character of each cat. Discover the breeds suitable for pet therapy, as well as those that do not cause allergies. And also learn how to communicate with each feline, observing the position of the whiskers, the whiskers that transform into real radars, the movements of the ears or the opening of the eyes and pupils. See how four-legged friends are cared for. Many curiosities, from 'make-up and hair', to feline vices. But not only. There will also be veterinarians and nutrition experts to whom you can ask for information. A 360-degree journey into the feline world branded ENFI

After the success of last year, the protected area where you can spend some time in contact with the cats is back. Young and old can enter a 'box', made safe, where they can pet the cats and spend a few minutes with them. Entrances will be controlled and staggered, so as to make the experience relaxing first of all for the cats and then for all the humans who want to be overwhelmed by purrs and games.

Adults and children will also be able to attend to the championship and to the 'rings', which will involve an international jury, with judges Chiara De Luca, Brigitta Redford (Germany), Gianfranco Mantovani, Martti Peltonen (Sweden). Professionals who will evaluate the beauty, posture and colors of each cat. By category: kittens, adults, entire or neutered. To then decree the most beautiful of all. Visitors will also be called into question and will be able to acclaim their favorite cat. In the afternoon, in fact, the Gran Guardia auditorium will host a real show. Meanwhile, in the two mornings, in the radio corner of Radio Bruno, breeders and veterinarians will be interviewed, allowing visitors to discover live many new aspects of the expo.

Each section of the Expo will be marked by the name of the feline breed on display and a QR code to learn about all its special features. Inside the Gran Guardia there will also be some stands selling food, products and 'feline' objects. Visitors will be able to talk to veterinarians, while in the Farmina space there will be professionals who deal with nutrition.
