Verona, Grande Teatro in scena "Perfetti sconosciuti" di Paolo Genovese

The show, proposed by Nuovo Teatro in co-production with Teatro della Toscana and Lotus Production, is based on Genovese's 2016 film of the same name, which entered the Guinness Book of Records as the film with the most remakes ever in the history of cinema: as many as twenty. Directed by Paolo Genovese who signs his first theatrical direction, Dino Abbrescia, Alice Bertini, Marco Bonini, Paolo Calabresi, Massimo De Lorenzo, Lorenza Indovina and Valeria Solarino are on stage.

The scenes are from Luigi Ferrigno, costumes by Grazia Materia, lights by Fabrizio Lucci.

The show, like the film, is a brilliant comedy about friendship, love and betrayal, which will lead a group of friends to confront each other and discover that they are "perfect strangers". During a dinner, the group of friends decides to play a game of truth by placing their cell phones on the table, thus sharing messages and phone calls with each other. Your deepest secrets will thus be revealed to the rest of the group. In fact, each of us has three lives: one public, one private and one secret. Once upon a time that secret was well protected in the archive of our memory, today in our sims. And if that tiny card starts talking and uncovers the "altars", the omelette inevitably ends up being done.

«While in the cinema – says Genovese – you take the audience by the hand and lead them wherever you want, you take them to see the details you have decided to show, the theater is unique, it is as if we were shooting a single scene lasting an hour and a half, because the audience's gaze is free to move in an environment where he has everything at his disposal. The project was ambitious but also exciting. I wanted to see how actors with different characteristics from those of the film's protagonists would interpret him, each bringing their own experiences and experiences. I wanted to write a new text for the theatre. Once the film is finished, it's no longer yours, whereas on a theater show you can work every night and it's a wonderful feeling."

For those who viscerally loved the 2016 blockbuster film of the same name, award-winning with two David di Donatello, three Nastri d'argento, three Ciak d'oro, the 2016 Flaiano prize and others still, the possibility of reliving a story in the theater set for the occasion in a large living room overlooking the kitchen area where the dishes are actually prepared, allowing spectators to immerse themselves even more in the events narrated.

On Thursday 25th, at 18pm, the performers will meet the public. The artistic director of Spettacolo of the Municipality of Verona Carlo Mangolini will host. Admission is free.

Tickets are on sale at the Teatro Nuovo, a Box Office and link . The prices are: stalls 26 euros, balcony 23 euros, first gallery 15 euros, second gallery 10 euros.
