"80 million euro for an important infrastructural intervention that, combining innovation and sustainability, will not only improve the travel experience of the 5 million passengers who gravitate towards Verona's Catullo airport but will also prepare the area to welcome athletes, spectators and tourists in view of the upcoming Winter Olympics Milano-Cortina 2026. Every million passengers is equivalent to 2-3 thousand jobs, which means that the investment we are presenting today is for the benefit of the entire territory. We are working on the development of the railway connection between the Scaligero airport, Verona and Lake Garda for a rail interconnection between Catullo and the Verona-Mantua lines, Milano-Venice and, consequently, the entire national Brenner route. More than ever, the territory needs a system of transport networks, for a mobility that, while respecting the environment, guarantees greater sustainability to road transport and allows the development of the Airport as an important piece of the North East Airport Hub”.
The President of the Veneto Region said it, Luca ZaiaYesterday at the “Valerio Catullo” Airport in Verona on the occasion of the inauguration of the new Security Area of the Romeo Project, the new passenger terminal under construction. The President of Catullo Spa was present, Paul Arena, with the CEO, Alexandra Bonetti.
