Venezia80: Venice Film Festival, the Region is present with a rich program of events.
" Venice Film Festival, one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world, this year hosts over seventy events organized by the Veneto Region and the Veneto Film Commission which will be under the spotlight of a global audience. These initiatives contribute to the vitality and pre-eminent role of Veneto in the cinematographic panorama, with the possibility of attracting the attention of the cultural industry and international media".
With these words, the President of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia announces the participation of the Veneto Region in the 80th edition of the Venice International Film Festival, scheduled at the Lido from 30 August to 9 September.
“The space of the Veneto Region, set up at the Hotel Excelsior on the Lido of Venice and shared with the Veneto Film Commission, has for years been a real crossroads of culture and cinema enthusiasts and professionals, helping to create a unique atmosphere which underlines the extraordinary union between our region and the cinematographic cultural heritage. These are a myriad of meetings, events, press conferences, presentations of films and cinematographic initiatives, from 31 August to 9 September, which will involve directors, actors, critics, authors and experts from the film industry, demonstrating once again the commitment of the Regional Council and the Department of Culture in particular, to the promotion of the Venetian cinema and audiovisual system, as well as of Veneto as an ideal film set. Not to mention the added value in terms of economic development in a perspective that also promotes employment", adds Zaia.
“It is a program full of quality events”, intervenes the Councilor for Culture, Cristiano Corazzari, “where the dialogue between different instances and the attention to current issues, to European cooperation, to the historical balance of the pandemic, to the role of training and innovative technologies for cinema, funding for the film-tourism sector, stories of inspiration, culture, tourism, identity, art as well as the riches of the Venetian territorial offer. This openness to dialogue helps to promote mutual understanding and interest in discovering new trends and styles, encouraging professional networking and promoting Venetian cinema. Attracting international attention to the Veneto as an "ideal set", and supporting and encouraging film production in our region, also means supporting culture, tourism and employment, as well as contributing to the prestige of the Venice Film Festival as a leading event in the panorama world cinema".
