Venice 81: all the films in the program

There are 5 Italian titles competing for the Golden Lion: Campo di Battaglia by Gianni Amelio, Vermiglio by Maura Delpero, Iddu by Fabio Grassadonia and Antonio Piazza, Queer by Luca Guadagnino and Diva futuro by Giulia Louise Steigerwalt. The Sky Original series M. THE SON OF THE CENTURY will be presented out of competition.

From the library of the Historical Archives of the Venice Biennale, Alberto Barbera, under the new presidency of Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, has revealed the films in and out of competition of all the sections of the eighty-first edition of the Venice Film Festival, which will take place from August 28 to September 7.

The Room Next Door by Pedro Almodóvar. “The director's first film in English”.
Battlefield by Gianni Amelio. “Set in the last year of the First World War, between the defeat at Caporetto and the Spanish flu pandemic”.

The Brutalist by Brady Corbet. “The director's most ambitious film, shot in 70 mm.
