Varese: The Municipality's Musical Season turns 25. Seven concerts with over 300 musicians are scheduled.
The Varese Municipality Music Season is turning twenty-five and to celebrate it is bringing to the city a wide-ranging festival, with orchestras, artists and choirs of note on the international music scene. Almost three hundred musicians for seven events, six of which will be hosted in the evocative Basilica of San Vittore and one in the Salone Estense, for a return to the origins in the place that for many years hosted the concerts of the historic event. The first appointment is on October 23rd, Registrations for tickets and season tickets open from October 1st.
“Twenty-five years of history for a festival that has always been much loved by the public – underlines the mayor Davide Galimberti – a project that has continued to grow over the years, establishing itself as one of the most important and heartfelt cultural proposals in the city, with a high quality of musical proposal, thanks to the artistic direction of Professor Sartorelli, also with the support of private and public supporters who contribute to making such an ambitious and high-quality event possible. Thanks also to the collaboration with the Basilica of San Vittore, a suggestive and unique place”.
“A cultural project that is now a quarter of a century old and which, among its countless merits, also has that of being characterised by a very strong educational component – adds the Councillor for Culture Enzo Laforgia – during the concerts of the Musical Season there is in fact a great participation and attention to enjoy this experience to the fullest. A historic project that in these years has managed to renew itself by also welcoming an audience of young and very young people”.
“A unique initiative in our entire territory – underlines the artistic director Fabio Sartorelli – over the course of 25 years, big names on the international scene have performed in Varese in almost 280 concerts. This edition alone will involve over 300 musicians, a notable number if we consider the average of 30 musicians in the first editions. A growth also connected with the transition from refined chamber music hosted in the Salone Estense, at the great season of symphonic music which today comes to life in the Basilica of San Vittore, with concerts that see the involvement of orchestral and choral groups made up of many elements. A change initiated in the post-pandemic for safety reasons, thanks to the precious collaboration with the Curia, which then proved to be particularly successful so much so that it continued, thus uniting the beauty of music with the suggestion that our Basilica offers”.
The first appointment is on October 23rd at 20.30:29 pm with soloists, choir and orchestra of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala performing a very special version of Mozart's Requiem. On Friday November 20.30th at XNUMX:XNUMX pm the Basilica will host a performance by Tölzer Knabenchor, one of the most famous male children's choirs in the world, on the notes of Bach, Scheidt and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. Friday 10 January at 20.30:25 pm we move to Salone Estense, a return to the origins to celebrate XNUMX years. Performing the Chagall Trio, which is enjoying extraordinary success throughout Europe with prizes never before awarded to Italian musicians. In addition, during the morning the young musicians who make up the trio will hold a lesson dedicated to the students of Varese. On Tuesday 28 January, at 20.30:XNUMX pm, the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory of Milano, a well-known reality that has always been much loved by the Varese public.
