“The commitment of the Manfredi Administration for Bagnoli continues to reap results in the sense of polycentrism and the valorization of the entire city territory, from Barra to Piscinola, to Soccavo” declares Sergio Locoratolo, coordinator of cultural policies of the Municipality of Naples. “After the reopening of the Porta del Parco Auditorium, which in a few months - through a dense program of events - has become a point of reference for the cultural realities of the Phlegraean territory and beyond, after the return of the area outside the Auditorium through the shows of "Summer in Naples", after the "Napolifonika" exhibition held between the Arena Flegrea, Città della Scienza and the Bagnoli Auditorium itself, through culture and quality entertainment, we turn the spotlight on another public space returned to citizenship and full of potential. We will work to channel the best resources of the territory into this area too, so that citizens feel it is theirs and so that our community - through the concrete and tangible support of the institutions - is able to make the most of the resources that nature and history they gave to us."
The “Twilight Sensations” initiative - to Free entry while seats last – experiments with new paths that combine the valorisation of the beauty of places with music and local products. Each event will be structured through tasting of the wines of the Metropolitan Vineyards, which will be followed by musical moments that will see protagonists four ensembles: 'in Frasca – Gruppo Scettici per la Tradizione (23/09), Partenoplay (24/09), Ars Nova (30/09) and Les Passants (01/10). In the first concert, 'A Frasca will propose a rhythmic vortex between the Tarantella de Li Marri (aka the itinerant Spaccapaese), the tammurriate, the fronne and the canti a Figliola. In the second appointment, Marina Bruno in Partenoplay, homage to Raffaele Viviani, Libero Bovio, Edoardo Nicolardi, Luigi Denza, EA Mario, Renato Carosone and Pino Daniele, with a sound that swings between bossanova, swing and bolero. The September 30th, the Ars Nova sextet will bring to light the Campania popular repertoire, the Apulian pizzica, the Sicilian serenades, the Calabrian tarantellas, on a border that is an ideal connection with Greek rebetiko and Balkan music. Finally, Les passants, a collective of young musicians who love manouche jazz formed within the walls of the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory, will range between the jazz tradition and the cheerful melancholy of the South, without neglecting traditional music.
“With this cultural initiative and the new sports equipment, the possibility of using municipal beaches as meeting places open beyond the bathing season takes shape” declared the President of the City Council, Enza Amato, and the Councilor for the Sea, Edoardo Cosenza. “I thank GIFFAS for the donation and all the participants in the "Sensations at dusk" evenings - added President Amato - because they offer tourists and citizens of Bagnoli opportunities for quality free time between sports, music and local excellences". “We are working – concluded the Cosenza councilor – to expand the offer of urban beaches with free access”.
