Trieste: Inauguration of the mosaic exhibition “Pop and Street Art… in Mosaic”.

It arrives in Trieste with the collaboration of the Municipality of Trieste, Department of Culture a new exhibition of mosaics made in the regional center for adults with autism: “Officina dell'Arte” in Pordenone which is part of the network of services of the Fondazione Bambini e Autismo ONLUS.

The exhibition brings together mosaic works created by neurodiverse and neurotypical people together and will be inaugurated on Friday at 18.00:XNUMX pm in the Sala Veruda of Palazzo Costanzi in Piazza Piccola. The authors are adults with autism from various areas of the region and beyond who attend the Art Workshop with the support of mosaic masters and therapists, giving birth to suggestive and original works that reinterpret in a mosaic the works of great masters of the more or less recent past.

This exhibition is dedicated to the theme: “From POP art to STREET art” and therefore pays homage not to a single artist but to two movements that revolutionised modern art, bringing it closer to wider audiences and taking it beyond classical forms and places. Two movements from which it was possible to draw complex and stimulating material, whose transposition into a mosaic required a great deal of teamwork and research within the composite group of users, artists, artisans and professionals.

The challenge was to bring to a mosaic exhibition works that in concept and size were very far from mosaic art. The result is therefore a marriage between ancient and modern through an exhibition outside the canons.

The exhibition can be visited from 7 December 2024 to 6 January 2025.
Opening hours: every day from 10am to 13pm and from 17pm to 20pm with the exception of the afternoon of 24 December, all day on 25 December, in the afternoon on 31 December and all day on 1 January.
