On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the city uprising of 30 April 1945, the traditional commemorative ceremony organized by the Grigiverde Federation took place on the morning of 30 April at the Cippo della Resistenza, on Colle di San Giusto, with the deposition of crowns and some short speeches.
Local authorities, the Gonfalone of the City of Trieste and the Combatant and Armed Forces Associations with their banners were present at the ceremony.
April 30, 1945 saw several thousand young people, often little more than boys, rising up against the German troops who were still occupying the city., following the order given on 25 April by the CLN to all the Italian partisan forces and paying for this the heavy tribute of well 31 dead and 60 wounded.
