Trento: Technological innovation begins in the Judicial Offices of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol
The Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol Region has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Justice for the implementation of technological solutions in judicial offices.

The Autonomous Region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol has approved the Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Justice – Department for Technological Innovation of Justice, General Directorate for Digital Infrastructures and User Assistance (DGINFRA), for the computerization of judicial offices in the regional territory. This important agreement aims to improve the technological and digital equipment of judicial offices, promoting a modern and efficient management of justice.
The Protocol focuses on several key aspects:
- IT Equipment: It provides for the purchase and management of IT equipment for judicial and administrative staff, necessary to ensure the correct performance of judicial activities.
- Network Infrastructures: Establishes the criteria for the creation and maintenance of the office computer network, with updates to cabling systems and network hardware to ensure efficient and secure connections.
- Digitization of Files: It includes a commitment to digitize paper case files, making it easier to access and manage court documents.
The Protocol then defines the tasks of each of the parties. The Ministry of Justice will be responsible for the design of the information systems, the initial configuration of the network equipment and the technical assistance to the judicial offices, while the Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol Region will manage the purchase of the IT equipment and take care of the inventory, in addition to financially supporting digitalisation activities and taking care of the decommissioning of obsolete equipment.
The Protocol will be valid for three years from the signing, during which the necessary activities and technological updates will be monitored and a periodic review is foreseen to ensure that the Protocol remains up to date with technological evolution.
