Trento celebrates volunteering with special events and shows

Trento, in the name of volunteering, creates an event that will bring to life the concert of a thousand choristers, the handover in Mechelen and the sensorial show “Ti sento” in the city.

Trento celebrates volunteering with special events and shows.

Among the events of the coming weeks also the handover with Mechelen and the show of the collective “Miscele d'aria”, a (wireless) musical journey in the city center. It has been an extraordinary year for the city's volunteers, the one that is about to end.

“Trento European and Italian Capital of Volunteering 2024” has mobilized new energies, spread enthusiasm and made known the commitment of many people for the most fragile, for the environment, for the neighborhood, for those who are nearby and for those who come from far away.

Here are some of the events that in this last part of the year will close the program of "Trento European and Italian Capital of Volunteering", an experience that will continue to bear fruit in the future thanks to the many initiatives launched and the new spirit with which the city looks at its volunteers.

Final event, the baton passes to Mechelen Friday 29 November, The Teatro Sociale will host the closing ceremony and the handover to the European Capital of Volunteering 2025, the Belgian city of Mechelen. On this occasion, the winner of the 2026 title will also be announced among the candidate cities Ballina (Ireland), Maia (Portugal), Rzeszow (Poland). Entry to the event is by invitation.

The Choirs for Civil Protection: a thousand voices for the volunteers Sunday 1 December, at 18 pm, the Federation of Choirs of Trentino, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Trento, organizes “Mille voci per i volontari”, a great musical event dedicated to the Civil Protection operators, chosen as an example of the altruism and dedication that distinguish every form of volunteering. The participating choirs will be 36, for a total of almost a thousand choristers involved.

Even the chosen date (1.12) is not accidental: in fact, call the single number for emergencies (112), symbol of the constant commitment and service to the community that characterizes the work of these volunteers. The concerts will be held in Trento, in the Philharmonic Hall in Via Verdi, and simultaneously in ten other locations: in Baselga di Piné, Folgaria, Mezzocorona, Pellizzano, Riva del Garda, Rovereto and Sarnonico. The closing concert will be in Pinzolo at 21 pm.

The choirs featured in the event are different from each other: among the musical groups chosen, there are in fact female, male, mixed, youth, children's voices... The repertoires will also be different: from the sacred to the profane, from pop to children's songs.

Fans, volunteers, their families and all citizens are invited to participate, to experience together a moment of music and solidarity. For information: Choir Federation Secretariat 0461 983896-

The legacy of “Trento Capitale” On the afternoon of December 5th, at Palazzo Geremia, we will talk about what Trento was the European and Italian Capital of Volunteering and what the future of active citizenship in Trentino will be. At 17 pm, in the reception hall, certificates of recognition of skills will be delivered to some of the young people who have completed their path within the project “Validating Trentino Volunteer Talent”, created in collaboration with the European Volunteering Centre.

The path enabled young volunteers to understand and document the skills acquired through volunteering experiences and other non-formal activities. Following this, a moment of giving back to the citizens during which the themes on which we will continue to work in the coming years will be explored in depth.

The event will include a talk by Ezio Manzini on the theme "Volunteering and Participation" by Itas Solidale and Produzioni dal Basso. Finally, the main results of the working groups that have worked on issues such as volunteering in schools, corporate volunteering, the social and economic impact of volunteering, youth involvement, digitalisation and other tools to support volunteering.

“I hear you”, a travelling sensory show with wireless headphoness The Municipality of Trento with Apt organizes four events with “Ti sento”, a sensorial and immersive show, curated by the Trentino artistic collective Miscele d'Aria, which has as its protagonist the world of volunteering, with its infinite facets.

Wearing wireless headphones, the public will be guided to discover some places, sometimes little known, in the historic center of the city of Trento. A dream journey, where the voices of the associations will alternate with live music, performed by the artists of the Trentino collective. The show also has a tourist value because among the aims there is also that of inviting residents and visitors to discover the most beautiful and in some cases lesser-known corners of the city.

The dates are November 30th (first performance at 16.30 pm, second performance at 18 pm), December 5th (at 16 pm and 30 pm). Participation is free.
