The section dedicated to children's theater has been confirmed within Buon'Estate 2023, the series of shows taking place in the courtyard of Palazzo Buonaccorsi promoted by the Municipality of Macerata with Amat and the contribution of the Marche Region and the Ministry of Culture. Precisely thanks to the synergy created between the Municipality, with the Councilor for Culture Katiuscia Cassetta, the Amat, with the president Piero Celani and the director Gilberto Santini, and the Lagrù association, with the artistic director of the I Teatri del Mondo Oberdan Cesanelli, Friday 7 and Saturday 8 July, in the splendid location in the heart of the historic center of Macerata, space for the exhibition “The courtyard of stories. The Theaters of the World in the limelight”, a sort of prologue to the international children's theater festival I Teatri del Mondo of Porto Sant'Elpidio which will have its 15th edition from 22 to 34 July.
The Macerata event includes a total of four shows, two per day, which will start at 17pm and 45pm. We start on Friday 21 July with “The adventures of Sganapino” by the company I Burattini of Massimiliano Venturi (Ravenna). Starting from the dramaturgical heritage of traditional puppet theatre, with references to cultured literature and popular repertoires, Massimiliano Venturi brings to the stage an ever new and different program of sketches and situations, duly revisited and updated, placing the spectator in a timeless atmosphere , with guaranteed fun for audiences of all ages.
At 21pm the Lagrù Ragazzi company will be on stage with “Stories in the wardrobe”. Two actors, scared but curious, approach a strange wardrobe that has suddenly appeared, wondering what will be inside: old theater costumes? Dusty wigs? And what is hidden in every child's closet? Monsters, witches, naughty brats, dragons, princes, fairies? Due to a rather mischievous wolf, the protagonists are forced to help the mysterious creatures that hide in the wardrobe and magically come to life, in a hilarious carousel of old and new stories that try to scare, but only entertain. Watch out for the grand finale with an exhilarating pillow fight between the spectators. Through the telling of traditional fairy tales and modern stories, the show exorcises fear and makes you tremble with laughter.
Saturday 8 July will always start at 17pm with "Pulcinella and the mysterious castle", a classic of puppet theater staged by the Compagnia degli Sbuffi of Castellammare di Stabia. Pulcinella Citrullo and her inseparable friend Tore Fasolo reach, after a succession of twists and a whirlwind of breathtaking events, the Mysterious Castle where the beautiful princess Eloisa, betrothed, has been locked up by the evil Marquis of Scalezza and his lowest advisor Ghigo. of Prince Lorenzo. What frightening mystery lies beyond the walls of the Marquis's home?
In the evening, at 21pm, there will be space for the Perugian company Tieffeu – Umbrian puppet theater with “Snow White”. A large book frames the story, where the scenarios pop up and give life to the settings and table figures. The characters of the fairy tale reveal the contrast between vices and virtues: the Queen who disguises herself as an evil witch to regain the primacy of beauty; Snow White, pure of soul but not strong enough to resist the temptation to taste a nice apple; the Prince, tired of life and court pleasantries who falls in love with Snow White's virtues. With them are the woodland dwarves who try to help and protect the protagonist from the temptations that are always lurking and close at hand.
