La Spezia: Simone Cristicchi in “Paradise from darkness to light”.
Lo show, of which Cristicchi is director, actor and songwriter - as well as co-author of the lyrics together with Manfredi Rutelli and of the music with Valter Sivilotti - is a poetic journey and original in Dante's poem.
In every man inhabits a nostalgia for the infinite, a sense of separation, a desire for completeness that pushes him to seek meaning in his existence.
Il the task of the human being is to give birth to himself, searching inside Hell - which is very often built by him - glimpses of Paradise: in the light breath of poetry, in the magnificence of art, in the discoveries of science, in the very wise book of Nature.
A starting from Dante's cantica, Simone Cristicchi writes and performs the story of an inner journey from darkness to light, through the powerful voices of the mystics of all times, whose teachings, like an underground river, cross the centuries to reach us with the relevance of their message. The tension towards Paradise is a metaphor for human evolution, a vital impulse towards higher, often inaccessible peaks: elevation and evolution.
