La Spezia: film season at the Ligurian regional media library “Sergio Fregoso”.
Until November 12th at the Odeon cinema hall of the Ligurian Regional Media Library “S. Fregoso” (via Firenze, 37) it will be possible to attend the screening of the film “There's Still Tomorrow”, which sees the Paola Cortellesi's directorial debut and which was a huge success.
Da On Wednesday 15 November, however, the viewing of "Lubo" is scheduled, directly from the Venice Film Festival, Giorgio Diritti's fifth feature film, freely based on the novel Il sominatore by Cavatore.
Synopsis of the film.
THERE'S STILL TOMORROW. From the Rome Film Festival, Paola Cortellesi's long-awaited directorial debut is one of those films that surprise, entertain, move and make you reflect. It is signed by Paola Cortellesi, in her first directorial, determined to sign a tribute to the women of yesterday and today, starting from the invisible ones, to show how women have made history in spite of themselves. Recalling the historical turning point of women's right to vote and telling it firsthand, as a director but also as an actress, in the role of a woman victim of domestic violence, she chooses the black and white of the great national popular cinema which has set a precedent throughout the world to tell the its great little story.
LUBO. Lubo Moser is a nomad from the Jenisch people. In the Swiss Confederation of 1939 he travels from place to place performing in the squares together with his wife Mirana and their children. Until the looming Second World War causes the government to declare the mobilization of men for the defense of the borders. Lubo, while on duty, learns that his children have been taken and taken to an institution. From that moment on, the meaning of life for him consists in achieving a double objective: finding them and taking revenge. Diritti finds in an act of ethnic cleansing, which one would find hard to believe happened in Switzerland, the opportunity to outline the most complex character in his filmography. To fully understand the work done by the director, who was based on Mario Cavatore's novel "The Sower", it is necessary to have some basic information. The Yenish are, after the Roma and Sinti, the third European nomadic people. Of Germanic origin, they have their own language and were defined in the past, in a derogatory way, as white gypsies.
