Initiative promoted by the Municipality as part of the centenary of the Liceo Classico Costa in the Palazzo degli Studi
La Spezia: Lectio magistralis by Roberto Vecchioni at the Civic Theatre.
Wednesday 31 May at 11 pm at Civic Theater one will be held keynote by professor Roberto Vecchioni which will deal with the topic of value of the classics in contemporary society.
This initiative, promoted by the Municipality of La Spezia with the contribution of the Liguria Region, is one of the many organized for the celebrations of the centenary of the Lorenzo Costa Classical High School in the Palazzo degli Studi. Was presented on the morning of 15st May in a press conference by the Mayor Pierluigi Peracchini, by the Councilor for the promotion of major events Manuela Gagliardi and by the Headmaster of the Costa High School Franco Elisei.
The event is open to students of La Spezia schools, who will be contacted by the Municipality in the next few days and will take care of collecting participation registrations. Roberto Old men, as well as being famous songwriter winner of some of the most famous festivals and awards in Italian music he is also a passionate scholar of ancient Greek, known for being able to translate Greek classics without the support of dictionaries. For he was a teacher for over thirty years at various classical high schools in the provinces of Milano and Brescia.

It will be an honor to have a professional of his caliber as a guest at the Teatro Civico della Spezia on a special occasion for our city such as the 100th anniversary of the inauguration of the Palazzo degli Studi, which for a century has also been the home of the Liceo Classico Costa. The high school that is organizing the celebrations still confirms itself today as an established reality for the training activities it carries out for the new generations, the workshops and extra-curricular activities involving students and others. We are happy to be able to offer our children the opportunity to attend a lesson by Professor Vecchioni and I thank the Headmaster Franco Elisei for the daily work he carries out for our students and for the constant institutional collaboration".
