“The sea the color of wine. Homer's Odyssey in the clubs of the Marche": the second edition of the exhibition is underway.
Second edition of the reviewThe sea color of wine. Homer's Odyssey in the Marche region, presented this morning at the regional headquarters by the Councilor for Culture Chiara Biondi together with the creator of the event, Cesare Cata and to musicians and producers Andrea Gasparrini and Adriano Brando Alessandrini.
The event will take place every week of November, from Thursday to Sunday, starting from 2nd to 26th November in the Marche region. The sixteen stages that make up the narrative journey of the 24 cantos of the Homeric Odyssey they unfold in sixteen 'stations' hosted by as many venues or particular locations which are characterized by their alternative character compared to the traditional places dedicated to cultural transmission.
“A very innovative and quality project – said the councilor blonde - which aims to bring poetry, in particular the Odyssey, into social places such as libraries, pubs and restaurants, to best spread culture and make it accessible to all. Another merit of the initiative, which we supported with the call dedicated to prizes, reviews and multidisciplinary festivals, is the involvement of 15 Municipalities, which fits perfectly into the network perspective that the Region convincingly encourages in its cultural policies".
“The sea the color of wine - has explained Catà - it is a Homeric verse, this is how the bard describes the expanse of water among whose waves Ulysses' journey is set. Within this verse we glimpsed an element linked to conviviality and the need to share 'the story' in places dedicated to sociality. Imagining the Marche almost like a sea by sailing on which we will go to tell stories, alternating verses, sounds and meanings, we wanted to repeat that ancient way of traveling to tell stories. What better place than this region, perhaps the most poetic of all?”
One format, the producers clarified, that he wants to propose again”the ancestral act of telling stories in places habitually frequented by people in a dimension that transcends social, cultural and economic status. The extraordinary ability to make the transmission of the story of what we can consider the History of Stories accessible to everyone (a strongly characterizing element of the format) produced good feedback from the public last year who often followed more than one of the stages of the event ”. The success of the first edition was added during the presentation, is therefore to be attributed to the particularity of the format, al Cesare Catà's informative talent and to the care of the theatrical setup which, while remaining in an agile and ductile dimension, adaptable to the most disparate situations, recreates evening after evening the same magic.
The 2023 edition sees the support of the department of Culture of the Marche Region and of all the Municipalities that host one of the evening events in their territory. Accompanying the philosopher Catà throughout the event will be live music. The compositions, created and arranged for the show by the Gasparrin duoi - Alessandrini will also see the presence of some guest musicians (Ludovica Gasparri, Rebecca Liberati, Sista Lu) to enrich some of the stages of the tour. The event will take place starting from Thursday 2nd inside the Tenuta Cocci Grifoni in Ripatransone, until Sunday 26th which will see the achievement of 16th stop inside the Caffè Meletti in Ascoli Piceno with the actress Paola Giorgi in the guise of a modern Penelope.
