The Lombardy Region participates in the “Clean Green Day 2024”

Green volunteers will be at work this weekend in 100 municipalities in Lombardy on the occasion of the 2024 edition of Clean Green Day. The date chosen is Sunday 12 May, but the initiatives will take place throughout the weekend and also in the following days.

THE INITIATIVE

Clean Green Day It is an initiative established by the Lombardy Region in 1987 with the aim of raising awareness among citizens, starting with the youngest., on environmental issues and develop a sense of responsibility and belonging for the place where one lives, thus promoting the formation of an environmental culture and awareness.

The Councilor for Environment and Climate of the Lombardy Region will symbolically start the demonstration Saturday at 9am at the Lido Galeazzi of Sirmione (Brescia) and then at 14pm it will move to Prevalle (Brescia) in via dei Maressi.

INVOLVE CITIZENS - "We want to involve citizens - explained the councilor - by inviting them to carry out cleaning actions in some areas of their territory with a view to defending the common good".

PROMOTE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION - “Many municipal administrations in collaboration with associations, schools, groups of citizens and local authorities - he added - they enthusiastically joined the event. Collective cleaning actions in the area contribute to raising awareness of the importance of environmental protection. Dedicating a few hours of your free time to taking care of the places where you live is a concrete way to spread green culture and generate a domino effect of positive actions for the community".

THE PHOTO CALL FOR MUNICIPALITIES – This year too there will be a connection to the event “photo call” for the Municipalities, which will reward the shots that have been able to capture the spirit of the initiative by conveying the message in a more creative way: To participate, simply send a representative photograph of the day that will be published on a special online form by the Lombardy Region for voting.
