“The corner of poetry”: the tenth edition of the Pesaro exhibition is dedicated to linguistic minorities.

From 24 to 29 July in the garden of the San Giovanni Library.

It addresses the “Beyond far”, the tenth edition of the exhibition “The corner of poetry” by Peppino Saponara which faces this year the issue of linguistic minorities “present in Italian territory but unknown to many”. The appointment is in garden of the San Giovanni Library from Monday 24th to Saturday 29th July, from 20pm. «It's a pleasure – he said Daniele Vimini, deputy mayor, councilor for Beautya – return to presenting the review which returns to its extended form of 6 days; dimension that will allow Saponara's narrative to dissect this year's theme, in the most appropriate times and ways". One theme, that of linguistic minorities, «“Central” with respect to the national debate and “centered” with respect to the flow of thought that we would like to carry forward with Pesaro2024, which will have two fundamental axes in multiculturalism and encounters" added Vimini before thanking the organizers of the event: "The creativity and ability to adapt of "The corner of poetry" have allowed us to find an innovative formula in which carry it out; will be held in a new "corner" of the city the one embraced by the historic walls that surround the San Giovanni Library. And it is truly suggestive that this splendid place, among the most beautiful in Italy, can welcome and celebrate poetry."

The 2023 edition, «It had to be done – he explained Giuseppe Saponara, author and director, and curator of the event -. Linguistic minorities are too often kept on the margins of the Italian system and out of the knowledge of Italians, despite some of them being protected by law. Each evening hosts exegetes and connoisseurs of these languages and the most important poets in their respective communities, and representatives of the Catalan, Occitan, Ladin, Cimbrian, Grikali and Albanian (arbereshe) minorities. The issue of linguistic minorities brings with it arguments that concern the importance of being small and the value of fragility. We will address them with digressions of a filmic, television and musical nature." And in collaboration with Stefano Teodori, who underlined: «Working in Pesaro, for this event, is always very enriching. This year in particular has allowed me to get to know incredible characters and stories that I never would have thought of. As a videomaker and author I put together texts, images and videos to scenographically construct "The corner of poetry", to accompany the viewer in an intimate situation that offers an overall view."
