The Municipality of Piobbico is the protagonist of the '50×50: Capitals squared' project for a week

The program is entitled 'Piobbico...in the Renaissance' and revolves around the Brancaleoni Castle - where most of the events will take place

The Municipality of Piobbico is the protagonist of the project for a week50×50: Capitals squared'.

From 11 to 17 March, the Municipality of Piobbico will be the new protagonist of '50×50: Capitals squared', the symbolic project of Pesaro 2024 which sees the fifty Municipalities of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, in turn, Capital for a week in 2024; special partner '50×50 Capital squared' Banca di Pesaro – Cooperative Credit. The program is titled 'Piobbico...in the Renaissance' and revolves around the Brancaleoni Castle – where most of the events will take place – symbolic place of Piobbico whose origins date back to the Renaissance, e to nature with the mountains, an element that characterizes this part of the province; an important element is also the involvement of schools. On the calendar, theatre, editorial presentations, music with the Rossini Conservatory of Pesaro, guided tours by young Ciceroni thanks to the FAI, trekking, workshops for the little ones and tours to discover ancient flavors thanks to the involvement of the Giuseppe Celli Hotel Institute, flower at the heart of the territory. The program also collaborates FAI delegation from Pesaro and Urbino called into action by Pesaro 2024 - starting from Piobbico - to activate initiatives with the cities of the '50x50' project. Also present are the inevitable events of What is PDO.

Present at the conference were: Daniele Vimini deputy mayor and councilor for Beauty of the Municipality of Pesaro; for the Municipality of Piobbico the mayor Alessandro Urbini, Matteo Martinelli regional councilor and president of the Proloco, the councillor Donatella Santini, the city councilor Silvia FormicaFiammetta Malpassi head of the FAI Pesaro and Urbino delegation; Valentina Marchetti representative of the Pesaro 2024 project 'What's DOP'.

He introduced Daniele ViminiI thank Piobbico for joining with enthusiasm. Every week we highlight the great attention of the various Municipalities in joining the 50×50 project but also the way in which they are achieving the objective we had set ourselves: that is, creating greater awareness - starting from the inhabitants themselves - for the beauty of the province ; therefore an invitation to visit our territory. And then the other objective achieved is to involve associations, schools, sporting entities and those from the food and wine world, which are the ones that act as the driving force behind cultural initiatives. And especially in the case of Piobbico, the work done will allow not only to shine a particular light on next week but also to imagine initiatives that can also be replicated in other periods of the year, uniting more municipalities in the province. The theme of the Renaissance is also very focused and allows us to connect the Capital Week with the culture and history that generated all this. I would like to underline that Piobbico has also understood the indication suggested since the first Fonte Avellana meeting: that of taking on - each for their own area - also the role of connection with neighboring regions, in this case with Umbria, therefore a way of working as a network. Networking is also what lies at the basis of the Pesaro Capitale Card which Castello Brancaleoni has joined, thus entering into the broad museum offer that is taking shape with Pesaro 2024.

For the mayor Alessandro Urbini, '50×50 is a moment thanks to which even the inland territories can be protagonists. What you can experience in Piobbico will be a journey into culture combined with what most represents and distinguishes us: nature, history, art. Everything is enriched with theatre, reading and taste events which will only bring further quality to our week of Co-Capital of Culture.

Matthew Martinelli illustrated in detail the program characterized by the hashtag 'the culture that goes together', imagining the culture that can be combined with other clusters such as nature, theatre, art, history, music, reading by collaborating with many a reality with which we collaborate all year round and also with extra-regional dialogue with Umbria. The result is a varied calendar.

Donatella Santini has made an invitation to visit Piobbico next week but also throughout the year because it is a hospitable town from many points of view starting from the welcome of the people and visiting the Brancaleoni Castle so full of events from which everyone can choose the one most congenial to them.

Has continued Fiammetta Malpassiwe accepted Councilor Vimini's invitation to be present in the cities of the province involved in the 50×50 project during their week. We won't be able to be in all the cities; the first to see our collaboration is Piobbico with whom we have already collaborated for a long time. We implement some of the projects dearest to us such as school students who become Ciceroni acting as guides and then the involvement of the Rossini Conservatory which will keep us company in the various capitals.

Valentina Marchetti recalled the two Piobbico events of 'Cosa c'è DOP', project that wants to unite 100 bars in the province online that tell what happens, what there is to see and what there is to eat in the province with food and wine excellence. And which promote our PDOs: Carpegna ham, Urbino casciotta, Cartoceto oil to be told paired with a glass of wine or a good beer; therefore to tell the culture on a food and wine level
