The international Guido Day 2023 award to Alfredo Grandini and Voceincanto.
Every year, on June 21st, as part of the Arezzo Music Festival – “Guido day”, Guido d'Arezzo Foundation awards a prize named after a citizen who has achieved particular merit in the field of music.
Therefore, this year the Foundation decided to award the prize to “for having generously put his relevant administrative, artistic, historical and musicological skills at the service of our city and the Guido d'Arezzo Foundation, resulting in important studies and publications relating to the Petrarca Theater and the history of the International Polyphonic Competition, which also thanks to his precious contribution, this year reaches its 71st edition".
She will also be honored this year the Voceincanto Association and in particular the “who, through his many years of choral activity under the wise guidance of the Maestro Gianna Ghiori, has contributed to the growth of young generations of musicians and has recently given life to a very important inclusive and integrated pedagogical and artistic project, inspired by the famous "system" founded in Venezuela by maestro Josè Antonio Abreu, designed to encourage participation in choral activities of children with motor and intellectual disabilities, and children who wish to learn sign language (LIS): the Mani Bianche Choir".
The award will be awarded on Wednesday 21 June at 19 pm at the Municipal Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art.
