The Cineclub dei bambini returns, the Festival dedicated to childhood, from 16 to 22 October in Palermo, Messina and Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto

From 20 to 22 October the Cinema Lux in Messina will host a series of special events and, on the final day, the award ceremony for the winning short film of the Festival is scheduled.

The Cineclub dei bambini returns, the Festival dedicated to childhood, from 16 to 22 October in Palermo, Messina and Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto.

The fourth edition of the Children's film club, the film festival dedicated to childhood, which will take place in Palermo, Messina and Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto (Messina) 16 from October to 22.

The event is organized by the Sicilian cultural association Arknoah in collaboration with the FICC - Italian Federation of Cinema Clubs and with the involvement of the comprehensive schools whose school groups will be given the role of Jury. The schools involved this year are the State Educational Directorate “A. Gabelli” of Palermo, the “San Francesco di Paola” Comprehensive Institute of Messina and the “Capuana” Comprehensive Institute of Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto.

During the days of the Festival, screenings of the short films in competition are scheduled in the three schools involved in the project, which will be voted on by the children and the holding of workshop activities dedicated to cinema.

The Cinema Lux of Messina (Largo Seggiola n. 168), from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd October will host an intense program of special events and film screenings for children.

On Friday afternoon 20 October the preview of “Yuku and the Himalayan Flower” is scheduled at 16.30 pm.

At 18.30 pm for the Cineclub Live section, which includes a live show every day, “Lumìe” by and with Francesco Mirabile is scheduled, in collaboration with the Carullo – Minasi Company. The day will end with the first screening of the animated film "Manodopera".

Saturday afternoon 21 October it will open at 16.00 pm with the show “Il sarto furbacchione” by A. Anelli directed by Michelangelo Maria Zanghì.

At 17.30pm there will be a repeat of "Yuku and the Himalayan Flower" and at 19.00pm the 2013 film "The Boy Who Discovered the World".

The second day at Cinema Lux will end with the screening, starting at 20.30 pm, of a special selection of shorts that are part of the archive of ZABUT, the International Festival of Animated Shorts.

Sunday 22 October the awards ceremony of the Short Film Competition is scheduled from 19.00 pm, with the viewing of the winning short of the fourth edition of the Cineclub dei bambini.

The final day of the Festival will open at 16.30 pm with the preview screening of the films “La Chiocciolina e la Balena / Zog EI Medici VolantiW. At 18.00 pm the "Adventures in Cineteca" workshop will take place, organized by the Cineteca dello Stretto and aimed at children aged 6 and up: the secrets of cinematographic film will be revealed to the young participants through a sensorial journey which includes projections and the use of equipment from the 70s and 80s.

After the announcement of the winning short of the Festival, the screening of the film by the Japanese master Miyazaki, “The Wind Rises” (19.30), is scheduled at 2010 pm.

Francesco Torre, founder and artistic director of the festival, declares: “More schools, more students, more films and above all an entire weekend in the cinema. In this fourth edition, the experience of the Cineclub dei Piccoli embraces the identity of Cinema Lux, builds on the preparatory work carried out in recent months with the local schools and communities and offers a very rich and qualified program for the entire citizens of Messina . With an eye towards all the children of the world involved in horrible wars, so that the magic and purity of childhood is preserved everywhere."
